Design Brief
The former lifeguard station sits in a prominent position above a beach on the Baltic Sea with long distance views across the bay of Kiel and the harbour of the 1972 Olympic Games.
The plan to turn it into a bar required a larger footprint and increased visibility along the coastline. The proposed extension of the building is combined with a wide canopy on the upper level, which acts as a focal point and covers a new viewing platform.
